Have trailer, will travel...

Don't know exactly why I feel the need to own this, but the last one I owned I kicked myself in the butt for selling it!
Real nice 2005 6 x 10" enclosed aluminum trailer...will move almost anything- motorcycles, furniture, camping equipment, mowers, whatever...  So its in the playhouse for when I need it!

My New Toy

I've been thinking that owning an antique tractor might be kinda fun.  I finally got some antique plows bought for yard art in my front yard (just needed 1, sold the other for what I had in it!), and that "primed the pump" so to speak.  I started looking online for one and I came across a model just like this a month or so ago up in GayHawk-ville (Lawrence) KS, but dismissed it.
Then last weekend I went to Threshing Days at Goessel, and that re-lit the fire.  I had seen another tractor closer to me (in Ark City) that looked very nicely done and not too pricey.  I decided that the Funk Family Trust needed to own a tractor for mowing around the playhouse and doing some gravel grading...this little beauty would be/do just what the doctor ordered.  So I negotiated with the guy, quickly wired up some lights on my tiltbed trailer, and flew down to Ark City Sunday afternoon, wrote the man a check, and loaded her up.  For all you city folks, its a 1950 Allis Chalmers Model B Row Crop model with a 5' Woods belly mower, is about a 20 horsepower tractor and its about 90% restored...I will finish up the rest.  It will be used for the above mentioned as well as for grandkid rides and parade duty/antique tractor shows.  I think I've fallen in love with her...she's a pretty sweet ride!

Shelf renovation

After years of getting down on hands & knees to get stuff out of our base cabinets, Nancy voiced that she would like sliders in her lower cabinets(also after seeing M & S's sliders that were way cool), so in-between fighting sciatica pain, I got started.  And after how many weeks?....
The finished project!!!  Man, are they sweet to use...now I just need to get up the "gumption" to do the other cabinet.....

NEW ACQUISITION-TRANSPORTATION DIVISION

Funks Hibrids had a good year financially in 2012, so the transportation department decided to upgrade 1 of the fleet vehicles.  They are in the process of finding a new home for the CEO's '95 SS Impala, and have acquired a very nice, clean 2007 Buick Lucerne CXS.  As per company preferences, the vehicle has the 4.6L Northstar V8, Harmon-Carden stereo radio/cd player, fully loaded with electric everything, heated/air conditioned seats and less than 70K on the odometer.
The exterior is an almost flawless maroon and the interior a tan/bucksin with walnut burl appointments.  This car is Buicks' flagship model, with the most interior room and the smoothest ride of any in their fleet.  The CEO & CFO were able to negotiate a buy price of $3K off of retail price, so it seems to be a very smart purchase.  It will receive its first road test in 5 weeks on a trip to central Colorado.

For the first time in her life, Sara tasting "puppy chow'!!!  she is allergic to peanuts, so we came up with the idea to make it with almond butter instead of peanut butter.  It was a smashing success!
Let it never be said that the Funk Hotel does not offer 5 star accomadations...here one of our guests enjoying a fresh made (by the house chef) mushroom and swiss omlete!!!
 Coopa says.."can I help, huh, can i?"
Gina & Adam cooking in our kitchen Christmas eve...well, Adam cooking and Gina ????
Mikes contribution to the evening appetizers, on puff pastry a combo of avacodo, bacon, tomatoes, and cheese baked to agolden brown...they were DELICIOUS!

While waiting for the feast to begin, Sutton decided to go for a spin in Grandpa's rocking Harley!!!
only Great-Grandpa and Grandpa can do this...an old Low German saying of "dreah, dreha, rum-tuft. moya, chey da um-tuft"....
Let the feast begin...more delectible delights than i can name...my contribution, lump crab cakes.
"Sutton, in order to make buffalo wings we have to get our hands dirty!"

AVACADO PIE

If you really like avacodos, you've got to try this...avacado pie!!! 3 large avacados in a blender, added coconut milk, unflavored gelatin, sugar, lime juice....and blended till smooth.
Pour that mixture into a pre-baked graham cracker crust and chill for a couple of hours till set,....
then top it off with some whipped cream!  I don't know how to explain/describe the flavor, but it is good.  Nanc thought it tasted kinda like a cheesecake...the avacado flavor is very subtle, and its very light.  Plus, its a lot lower in bad fat than cheesecake and loaded with "good" fat with the avacados in it!!!

This is what happens....

This is what happens when you refill your hot tub after its been empty all summer and you.....
-don't get the ph in your hot tub adjusted correctly
-forget to add stain and scale remover every week
-drain your hot tub for the summer and your ceramic filters degrade
-all of the above or some of the above
...and you sit in front of the jets for only 20 minutes!!!  you get 2 perfectly circular chemical-type burns on your back, one of which was so bad that it broke the skin.  Along with this condition you get to have sleepless nights, get to go to the dr. and get a diagnosis and oinment/coverings that you must keep on for 5 days, and incredible itching as the burns heal.

I called the spa people...the chemical "expert" there of over 20 years tenure had never heard of such.(i will be sending her a picture of my back so she does not doubt my word)

Try this at home if you dare...its a blast!!!!!....not!
