Evening at the BEAST FEAST

Unfortunately, the janitor of Funks Hybrids was the only one from the company that was able to attend the 2011 Beast Feast, but he dutifully loaded up various projects and put together quite a display...here you see the patriarch of the company adjusting his glasses in the background. Many positive comments were made on the fine workmanship of all the handmade projects shown at the affair...everything from the magazine rack in the foreground to the tray made with lyptus wood to, of course, the magnificent Harley rocker.

The evening meal was fantastic, starting off with
goose jalapeno poppers and venison summer
sausage to the main course of venison sausage
chili, skewered grilled buffalo, pheasant & rice,
dressing with elk, venison stew, barbecued spicy wild boar sausage, and various cakes.

NAME CHANGE

At a recent board meeting of Grandpa's Workshop management, a name change motion was brought up. After consideration of such motion, it was decided upon to evoke Section 3 of Articles of Incorporation Form 112.70... that the name would be changed effective immediatley upon passage by majority vote of such motion. It passed unanomously and was approved, the new name to be "Funks Hybrids" henceforth. Hours of operation and production rates/pricing will remain unchanged.

In a related story, the first public showing of products designed & constructed by Funks Hybrids will be Saturday, February 26, at Grace Community Church from 3-8pm at a function called "Beast Feast", including displays of various hobbies from male members of the church as well as an all-game evening meal and guest speaker. Tickets available prior to event early, so make your plans to attend now! Pictures taken at the event will follow.

"HIM" BY RUPERT HOLMES

...another of my faves, this one an oldie!

"over by the window, there's a pack of cigarettes; not my brand, you understand, sometimes the girl forgets.

she forgets to hide them...i know who left those smokes behind; she'll say 'ah, he's just a friend', and i'll say 'ah, i'm not blind to'.."

HIM, HIM, HIM..WHAT'S SHE GOING TO DO ABOUT HIM, SHE'S GONNA HAVE TO DO WITHOUT HIM, OR DO WITHOUT ME, ME, ME.. NO ONE GETS TO GET IT FOR FREE...ITS ME OR ITS HIM...

"don't know what he looks like, don't know who he is, don't know why she thought that i would say..'what's mine is his",

i don't want to own her, but i can't let her have it both ways; 3 is one too many of us, she leaves with me or stays with.."

HIM, HIM, HIM WHAT'S SHE GONNA TO DO ABOUT HIM, SHE'S GONNA HAVE TO DO WITHOUT HIM, OR DO WITHOUT ME, ME, ME, NO ONE GETS TO GET IT FOR FREE, ITS ME OR ITS HIM!

oo oo, oooooo, oo oo, ooooooo, ooooowe, oooooowe, ooooooooooo....

"if she wants him she can have him, just exactly how it once was; its goodbye to he and i, and back to me and her without..."

HIM, HIM, HIM WHAT'S SHE GONNA DO ABOUT HIM, SHES GONNA HAVE TO DO WITHOUT HIM... OR DO WITHOUT ME, ME, ME, NO ONE GETS TO GET IT FOR FREE, TIME FOR ME TO MAKE THE GIRL SEE, ITS ME OR ITS HIM, HIM, HIM, WHAT'S SHE GONNA DO ABOUT HIM, SHE'S GONNA HAVE TO DO WITHOUT HIM OR DO WTHOUT ME, ME, ME, NO ONE GETS TO GET IT FOR FREE...

SUNDAY'S RECIPE

COFFEE

That's right...coffee! Just as some people are sure there's a conspiracy theory going on with our government, I'm convinced there's a conspiracy going on with the coffee industry, the retail industry on Valentine's Day, as perhaps others. Do you all recognize the appliance in the left of the picture??? Its a percolator, and it makes the BEST COFFEE hands down. Why don't we use it anymore if it makes such good coffee? Because it uses so little coffee, that's why! I use the same amount of grounds I do in my Mr. Coffee pour-thru for 6 cups as I do in this maker for 12 cups, and the strength is the same and the coffee tastes better! It doesn't take hardly any longer to make coffee with it...why has the world gone away from using it!...because we use less and buy less grounds for it than you do for today's style of coffee maker.

SNOW THATS.....

You may or may not have heard the old saying..."we've got snow that's ass-deep to a tall Indian", I think we're about halfway there! It started snowing about 4 am this morning, and as of 5:30pm we've had between 9 and 11" depending on where you measure and who you listen to. Neat!!!

***Addendum to earlier post...its now 9:15 pm, and channel 24 just reported that Newton has officially received 17" of snow! I'd say we're past the knees on the tall Indian! More snow to come yet tonite/tommorow...
